The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food and the Environment published law 24/2013 regarding official definitions and recognition of two categories of local produce. 

Direct Sales refers to those products the customer purchases directly from the farmer, cooperative or any other grouping of farm-workers. Our vegetable boxes fall into this category. 

Close-circuit sales refers to those products which a farmer may purchase from another agricultural or farming body and then pass on to the customer. The fruit we supply with our boxes is an example of this kind of sale.
